1. For heavier, more substantial statement necklaces, it is best to lie flat in a storage box or drawer. Lighter pieces can be hung, but, storing in a drawer helps to keep them dust free. You want to avoid tangling, kinking and crimping which can cause breakage.
   
   
2. If your necklace has semi precious stones, avoid storing in bright sun.
   
   
3. Hairspray and perfume are harsh on jewelry and should be applied before putting on the necklace.
   
   
4. Clean jewelry with a jewelry cloth or a simple damp cloth will be sufficient to remove traces of beauty products and body oil.
