How To Wear A Statement Necklace

At Carolily, we believe there is no right or wrong way to wear a Statement necklace. To us, they are a celebration of life, a means of expressing ourselves and a creative outlet. But, as we know from talking to our wonderful customers, not everyone knows where to start!

If you've ever thought to yourself that you can't wear a Statement necklace, that you're not sure how to style it or that they are too bold for you, we would love the opportunity to prove you wrong! We all have a statement to make, no matter how big or how small.

We'll share our top five ways to wear a Statement necklace, but we invite you to email us if you have any questions. We are happy to bring you into our West Kelowna studio for a personal shopping experience, or a virtual one. We can help you select the perfect outfits for your Statement necklaces!

5 Ways To Wear A Statement Necklace

  1. T-Shirt & Jeans

Ahhhh, one of our favorite ways to rock a Statement necklace! Pairing a larger necklace with a basic t-shirt and jeans helps to elevate the look, while keeping it casual and comfortable. Try pairing your Statement necklace with some equally fabulous shoes or boots to kick up the cool factor! Donna is wearing the Jackeline and Donna Necklace.

  2. Little Black Dress

Whether you're having a romantic dinner at home or out at a winery with your girlfriends, a little black dress never goes out of style. We prefer one that has subtle embellishments, like ruffles or an interesting hemline! Donna is wearing the Donna Necklace.

  3. Lounge Set

The perfect combination of chic and comfort! Silk lounge sets are the perfect outfit to wear with Statement necklaces because they let the necklace be the focal point. We love a classic black lounge set, and will pair the pants with a fun bomber jacket or button up shirt for an entirely different look! Donna is wearing the Josian Necklace

  4. White Blouse & Your Favorite Pants

We love a crisp, white blouse! There is something so strong and feminine about wearing one. We almost always pop the collar, as it helps to showcase the Statement necklaces we are wearing. With an open neck, it always allows you to layer different necklaces. Layering isn't just for delicate necklaces. Donna is wearing the Annabelleand Eliza Necklace.
  5. All White Everything

An all white outfit will forever be a favorite of ours! Paired beautifully with colourful jewelry, or something silver and white, there are endless ways to style this outfit. Try pairing a more feminine skirt with some beautiful loafers! Donna is wearing the Ashley Necklace.

It's Up To You

Like we said in the beginning, how you wear your Statement necklace is entirely up to you! These are merely suggestions and a place for you to start! If you would like to schedule an in-person or virtual styling and personal shopping session, please email us at info@carolily.com. We cannot wait to see how you style your Statement jewelry!

Hello Connie,

Danielle here! Thank you so much for the kind words. Mom’s sense of style is certainly something that sets us apart!

Great minds think alike! We have already created a one-of-a-kind necklace for Dr. Bonnie and announced it last week. I’ll be sure to resend that newsletter next week in case the announcement was missed! We are very proud of the piece and cannot wait to see it on her.

Thank you again for taking the time to comment. Have a wonderful day!

Donna, I have been enjoying getting your emails and watching your business go from success to success. Congratulations on what you and Danielle have accomplished. When we were paddling together your style was always noticeable, even in a PFD!

Looking at your necklaces and this blog about wearing statement necklaces makes me think about our wonderful Dr. Bonnie Henry and her statement necklaces on which many people have commented. Have you thought of making a necklace in her honour? Perhaps you already have.

Warmest regards, Connie

Why Age is NOT Just a Number
Why Age is NOT Just a Number

June 14, 2021 4 min read

How often have you heard "she looks good for her age" or had someone assume something about you because of your age? We're all guilty of it. Society perpetuates the idea that once we cross the birthday threshold into our 50s or... *gasp*...our 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, that there are limitations based on a number.

We always say that age is "just" a number. But, that's not totally true, is it?

If you've been reading our articles, like "How to Act Your Age Over 50" or "How to Dress Your Age Over 50", we tell you to forget the number all together. The chronological number that society says defines us? Yes, that one. Forget it. Look past it.

We're going to have a little chat about our age, which, believe it or not, is actually so much more than just a number.

Which brings us to the point of this article...

We loved writing our other article "How To Act Your Age (For Women Over 50)" so much that we thought we ought to tackle how to dress your age when you are over 50. After all, society has plenty of ideas as to what we should be wearing!

As we watch the clock tick from our 49th to 50th year, something in the fashion industry changes. Have you felt the shift? It's suddenly harder to find anything we really love. Why does everything resemble a potato sack? How come I can't find pants that fit? We are practically put out to pasture when it comes to the world of fashion!

Without further adieu, enjoy our top 6 tips on how to dress your age when you're over 50!

So often we read articles about what a woman our age or "of a certain" age ought to be doing. What beauty products we should be using, what we should wear, the top ten foods to include in our diet, when we must retire, how we should present ourselves to the world. There seems to be an awful lot of rules once we hop on over the fifty year mark. It also sounds dreadfully dull, if you ask us.

While, yes, we have created this list of the top six ways to act your age, they really are more like suggestions that we like to mull over. Things to contemplate. Ideas to reference. Ways of living that transcend time.

When it comes to actual rules for acting our age? Pfft...there are no rules here!
